Practice Coloring Page with Spectrum Noir Markers

I started collecting Letraset ProMarkers about a year ago, and then discovered Spectrum Noir markers soon after that.  I was looking for a cheaper alternative to Copics.  Nevermind that I still have invested quite a bit into markers when I didn't really need another hobby, but after finishing this coloring page I'm pretty happy I did.

This coloring book, called "Color Me Your Way", was a birthday present from my mom this past summer. I started the page without a good knowledge of the techniques for coloring with alcohol-based markers and without enough markers to do a good job. So this has just been a giant practice page for me.

I colored here and there on Saturday evenings and sometimes Sundays, but after Christmas I had time to hang out with the kids and really spent significant time on the page. Yes, it took six months start-to-finish, but most of this was done in a week.

I sure hope I can find more time to color with my markers!

  3. I've been wanting to try alcohol markers too and can't swallow the cost of copics. Do you like the spectrum noir?

    1. I do. It's still an investment, even when I can pay $7.50 for a 6-pack from JoAnn's with a coupon, but I think they work great. I'm looking forward to practicing more with the Spectrum Noir and don't think I'm missing much by avoiding the cost of Copics.

  5. Hi Kelly,

LOVE these markers, wishing we had a JoAnn's up here! Your picture looks incredible, jumps right off the screen.

Your cards are lovely as standard :)

Think us three gals should do another blog hop? Valentine's theme?

    Hugs,
